Description:
The Choir of Hard Knocks is a group of homeless and disadvantaged people who share a love of singing and come together once a week under the leadership of Founding Music/Choir Director Jonathon Welch. They have been practising together since September 2006. Says Jonathon: “Listening to the final master of this Choir of Hard Knocks CD, it is hard to imagine this is the same Choir that I created just a little over 12 months ago, and even harder to believe how much joy and inspiration the Choir of Hard Knocks has brought to the nation with their sheer courage and determination! The Choirs' commitment to their music making and to the development of their performance skills in the past six months has been extraordinary. This second CD proves that all their hard work is paying off – and the pride in their achievements is even greater still”.

Artistically, the choir has come a long way since their first album and this can be clearly heard on the album. Guest appearances from Jimmy Barnes and Karen Knowles add real value to this very strong album.
