The demented, indecipherable School Bus is Bob Log III's one-man tour de force of ear-shredding howls, sexual obsession, and explosive slide guitar. A singularly bizarre stylist with an inclination toward reckless, bluesy rockers, he occasionally manages to pull a solid groove out of the chaos of pounding kick drums and slashing chords. While Bob Log III's antics will put off most casual listeners, fans of Fat Possum's callous attitude and raw production should find it a solid listen. Six of the album's 13 tracks are instrumental; "Look at That" and the freakish "String Around a Stick" are vocal highlights, although most of the lyrics remain completely unintelligible. ~ Jim Smith, AMG
