JOEL EDGERTON, BROOKE SATCHWELL and acclaimed up and coming actor KHAN CHITTENDEN headline the stellar ensemble cast of new Australian drama series released on DVD via Warner Music Entertainment.
The breakout drama series of eight one-hour episodes aired on FOX8 earlier this year and was produced by John Edwards Southern Star, one of the co-creators of the AFI and Logie Award winning subscription television series LOVE MY WAY. Filmed entirely on location in the South Western suburbs and City of Sydney; the ‘DANGEROUS’ series breaks new ground for Australian drama, exploring youth culture like never before, including taboo subjects including the underground world of drag racing and ram-raiding.
Brooke Satchwell (Water Rats, White Collar Blue) will star as Donna, an ambitious young girl, from the power side of Sydney who hooks up with Dean, played by Khan Chittenden (Blue Water High, The Caterpillar Wish), a flamboyant young crim from the rough South-Western suburbs. Donna enters Dean’s world as a reticent tourist gathering reports for The Premier’s Office and is totally caught off guard by her desire to participate in this underground world. Instantly drawn to Dean, she indulges in the mutual attractionand discovers the pleasure of life on the other side of the line.
Watching over Donna is the cynical Detective Mark Field, played by Joel Edgerton (The Secret Life of Us and films including Ned Kelly, Star Wars: Episode III – The Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones) who runs the task force set up to bust the gangs.
Joining Dean in his tight-knit gang are Joe (Paul Pantano), Riz (Vico Thai), and the gutsy EC (Nicole Da Silva). The three follow Dean as their leader and, as his confidence in the underworld grows, he leads them all on a downward spiral.
Creator John Edwards, whose outstanding work portfolio includes Love My Way, The Secret Life of Us and Police Rescue, has assembled an exceptional cast and crew. “In Joel Edgerton, Brooke Satchwell and Khan Chittenden we really have a cool cast and in the hands of directors David Caesar and Shawn Seet we are expecting something special,” Edwards said.
